Middle Georgia State University’s Office of Continuing Education will present online workshops in June focusing on poetry and fiction writing. Each will be taught by a faculty member specializing in that particular field.
Each costs $150. Both classes will be online. Dr. Kevin Cantwell will host the workshop “Poetry with Dr. Kevin Cantwell.”
He’s the author of three poetry volumes, "Something Black in the Green Part of Your Eye" and "One of Those Russian Novels.” Open for both adult novice poetry writers as well as lifetime readers of poetry, participants will write, read, and discuss their poems, as well as learn about how poems get submitted to literary journals for potential publication.
Andy Davidson, novelist, will host the workshop “Fiction with Andy Davidson.” He’s the author of horror novels. "In the Valley of the Sun: A Novel" and "The Boatman's Daughter: A Novel.”
His workshop will serve as an introduction to fiction writing for adult learners. During the five lessons, participants will write a short story, share their work with the class, and finally explore how literary and popular fictions are published today.
For information on each workshop, contact kevin.cantwell@mga.edu or andy.davidson@mga.edu Register online by going to https://www.mga.edu/continuing-education/lectures-conversations.php.
