Bats struggle in loss to Harlem.

BCHS was in Eastman Saturday afternoon for softball. But their opponent wasn’t the longtime rival Lady Indians. Rather, the Lady Royals took on Harlem High School, who also played Dodge there Though only giving up four runs, the BC offense never got on track.

A two-out error in the third tied the score at one. Two on with two outs in the bottom of the fourth produced no runs. Harlem got three in the fifth. Darci Dillard hit a solo home run in the sixth but the Lady Royals could draw no closer, losing 4-2.

E’lisia Vickers accounted for two of the team’s four hits, going 2 for 3. Dillard went 1 for 2. Region play begins August 18 at home versus Monticello at 5:30 pm.
