Tuesday night was the resumption of a rivalry as BCHS hosted Monticello. The Lady Royals and Lady Canes battled for region supremacy as members of 4-AA for years. BC lost to the Canes at the elite eight in 2017.

Play was delayed for almost an hour and a half due to lightning in the area. When it began, ten batters came to the plate in the bottom of the first as Bleckley took a 4-0 lead. They would miss opportunities to add to their advantage, stranding two runners in the second, leaving the bases loaded in the third.

Monticello got two in the top of the sixth. Darci Dillard’s two-out double in the home half provided a little breathing room. A Lady Canes runner was stranded in the seventh as BCHS won 5-2.
