Lady Royals hold off Telfair County.

Wednesday, BCHS renewed its non-region rivalry with Telfair County, coached by Bleckley alum Chris Ellis. The Lady Trojans and Lady Royals have had several close games in Cochran, this one was no exception.

BC took a 4-0 lead to the bottom of the fourth, but left the bases loaded. A three-run home run in the fifth got Telfair back in the game. After leaving the bases loaded again in the fifth, Telfair tied the score in the sixth thanks to a pair of errors.

E’lisia Vickers’ sac fly in the home half broke the tie. The Lady Trojans got a pair of two-out singles in the seventh to make it interesting, but BCHS would hold on to win 5-4.

Clara Rickerson went 3 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI. Addisyn Keel went 2 for 3 with a double. Jordyn Krieg was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Marley Jarrell went 2 for 4. The Lady Royals host A.C.E. in a JV/Varsity doubleheader tomorrow. Game times are 4 and 6 pm.
