Friday afternoon’s game against Cook High School doesn’t change the fact BCHS had a great season. They won region for the first time since 2014, and advanced to the second round of state. But the game itself will probably sting for a while because it’s one the Lady Royals probably should’ve won.

Cook tied the game at 3 on an error in the third. Darci Dillard tripled with two outs in the fourth but was left stranded. BC had a runner at second with one out in the fifth, but they were doubled off to end the inning. An error with two outs in the sixth allowed the go-ahead run to score for the Lady Hornets.

Addisyn Keel doubled to lead off the home half but was left stranded at third. A two on, one out opportunity in the bottom of the seventh produced no runs as Bleckley’s season ended 4-3. Seven runners were stranded, eight errors committed.
