In a brief called meeting held Monday night, the Bleckley County Board of Education voted to approve a new COVID-19 Decision Guide which is based upon updated CDC and Georgia DPH guidelines regarding quarantine periods for someone exposed to a person who tests positive for the virus.

Under the new guidelines, the quarantine period is shortened from 14 to 10 days, with a possible seven-day quarantine period if the person has a negative PCR or Antigen test on day six or seven. A flow chart, posted on the district Twitter account as well as EBoards, reflects the new guidelines.

The board also voted to dismiss all schools at noon Friday to give students and fans traveling to Rabun County for round three of the football playoffs time to do so. Minutes state Monday’s meeting dismissed at 7:12 pm.
