Updating the situation from the Westside game.

In case you missed it, last week when I attended the boys basketball game at Westside, I was basically forced by Bibb Campus Police to leave at halftime for not wearing a mask. They refused to acknowledge the document I had from my health care provider stating I have anxiety and can't wear a face covering.

I contacted the Bibb County School District and received the following email from Bibb County Schools Athletic Director Barney Hester.

This was my reply.

In my previous article, I stated that I may not try to cover basketball games in Bibb County because of what I endured. While I appreciate the reply from Coach Hester, I have to weigh the cost/benefit of going to games there given the circumstances.

Let me also say that my not attending tonight's game at Tattnall Square Academy is entirely unrelated as Tattnall is a private school. My not going tonight is a simple case of it being a 9 pm start and both teams having games tomorrow at West Laurens.

Please understand I want to ensure all are covered, but there are limits as to what I'm able to do. Know that games I'm not at, every effort will be made to ensure there's at least a score posted. Please also know this article is not an attempt to be self-serving. Rather, I feel it appropriate to update you on a situation last week that will likely affect content on the site in the immediate future.

***Update*** I have received Coach Hester's cell number and have saved it for future reference.

Thanks for your continued readership and support.
