Middle Georgia State University Dining Services is holding its first ever cooking competition. Executive chefs Chris Caracciolo (Macon campus) and Ricky Cameron (Cochran campus) will display their culinary skills in the inaugural BeWell Iron Chef Cook-off.

The competition will take March 17 in Georgia Dining on the Cochran campus and March 24 in Macon at Camelot Court from 4-6 pm. During the event, Caracciolo and Cameron will prepare a healthy recipe before a panel of student judges and a live audience. The recipe must contain ingredients students can prepare on a limited budget.

It will be judged by students nutritional value, creativity, taste, use of healthy ingredients, and presentation. According to a release, those attending the competition will have the opportunity to:

• Sample the foods being prepared
• Get cooking tips from professional chefs
• Collect BeWell recipes to try at home

The Iron Chef competition will benefit Elior North America’s nationwide BeWell program, which promotes food, nutrition, and wellness education regularly to nudge customers to make positive behavior changes that may improve their health.
