It was an emotional year for the BCMS Competition Cheerleading Squad and first year head coach Chara Nobles. Besides facing a delayed start due to COVID-19, the entire squad had to quarantine at one point. Illness forced them to pull out a competition.

Despite those issues, the Barons won region for the first time since 2017. Nobles, along with assistant Jessica Smith, cheerleaders, and families were in the middle school lunchroom Monday night to celebrate the year.

Nobles was visibly emotional at times as she spoke, being so proud of the squad for overcoming all the adversities they faced. After participation certificates were presented, specific awards were handed out. Except for the GPA award, they were voted on by the squad.
