Baseball has little trouble sweeping Southwest.

With just three region games left going into Monday’s home doubleheader against Southwest, the goal was clear for BCHS. Win and clinch region as well as at least one home playoff game.

They would have little trouble in doing just that. Leading 7-0 after one inning in game one, Brody Little homered to lead off the second, part of a five-run inning. Though the Patriots scored in the third, a four-run home half secured a 16-1 victory. Little was 2 for 2 with 1 RBI.

Ethan Hulsey went 3 for 4 with a double and 4 RBI. Matthew Bland was 1 for 2 with a double and 1 RBI. Eli Mullis and Caleb Senters both went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI.

Game two saw the Royals send 19 batters to the plate in scoring 14 in the first. Though reserves took over in the second, BC scored three more times. Carter Brannon struck out the side in the third as BC won 17-0. Conner Senters went 2 for 2 with 1 RBI. Caleb Senters was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI.

Shane Knighton had an RBI hit in the second inning of game two.


The Royals will seek to cap a perfect region season Wednesday at Monticello. Game time is 5:30 pm.
