The Bleckley County Board of Education had planned to vote on the GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) for the next round of athletic renovations. However, according to meeting minutes superintendent Dr. Steve Smith said he’d asked JCI Contractors to speak with vendors about extending the project schedule.

Therefore, the GMP recommendation was moved to the May 18 meeting which will be held in the high school auditorium at 7 pm. Several personnel moves were made. Accepted was the resignation of Kelton Elvine, teacher and assistant coach for several sports. Brad Harber was hired as a high school teacher and will also be wide receivers coach.

Updates to the FY22 Athletic Staffing plan include:
Former BCHS cheerleader Allie Smith, recently hired as a parapro for BCMS, was named competition and football squad assistant coach. She will also be an assistant coach for middle school girls track. Matt Gilbert, who will be a high school assistant boys soccer coach, was named BCMS boys head soccer coach.
