On July 14, at 7:14 am, there will be a short reading of the Bible at every county courthouse in the state of Georgia. Each county will read a different chapter, accomplishing the goal of reading the entire Bible in about hour or less.

This will be the third year of the interdenominational gathering. According to a release, the basis for the reading is based upon 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.”

The statewide Bible Reading project was started in Iowa in 2018. Last year, 16 states and 57 countries participated. The goal this year was to expand the reading into every time zone on July 14.

This year’s reading locally will take place on July 14 at 7:14 am on the Bleckley Courthouse square. For more information, contact Georgia state leader Jerri Tuck, jerrituck40@gmail.com.
