Seven Bleckley 4-H’ers competed at state congress held July 20-23 in Atlanta. Six placed, three came home as state champions. Finishing first were: McKenna Edwards in Photography and Videography, Veronica Lee in Food Labs: Festive Foods for Health, and Chloe Mullis in Performing Arts: Vocal. The three earned Master 4-H status and will have the opportunity to compete at national congress in November.

Other placements, honorable mentions: Evan Powell - Second place in Wildlife and Marine Science, Lucy Wiegert - Second place in Sports, Lydia Belflower - Third place in General Recreation, and Lauren Coley – Honorable Mention in Performing Arts: General.

Kaylee Cahill competed at the 4-H Southeast Regional Horse Show held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry July 28-31. The show has combined junior and senior divisions and competitors from nine states.

Cahill and her horse Dun Played You Boys “Ellin” had a great showing, finishing second in Ranch Trail, second in Working Cow Horse, Ranch In-Hand Ground Handling, first in Ranch Reining, and fourth in Ranch Riding. The combined scores led to her claiming the high points title in the Ranch Division.
