Early missed opportunity proves costly for Lady Royals.

In sports, one play can make a big difference. In Thursday’s softball game versus the A.C.E. Gryphons, the argument could be made that the different outcomes of bases loaded situations faced by both teams decided the game.

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the second, the Lady Royals loaded the bases with no outs but failed to score. A.C.E. loaded the bases with two outs in the third, then got a bases clearing double.

BC got on the board in the fifth on a Riley Haley sac fly. Haley, who was hit on the hand with the ball during that at bat, pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh despite having runners on base in both innings.

Elisia Vickers had a two-out RBI single in the seventh. but Bleckley lost 4-2. Eight runners were stranded. Vickers was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Jordyn Krieg went 3 for 4 with a double. Bleckley hots Wilcox County August 23 at 5:30 pm.
