BCHS looked to stay in contention for a region title when they hosted Lamar County Tuesday afternoon. Though the Lady Royals won easily when the two teams met recently, this game was a much closer affair thanks in part to missed scoring opportunities.

Reagan Wimberly sets to throw from second base.

BC scored two runs in both the first and third innings but left the bases loaded. Up 4-1 in the fourth, a second and third, one out opportunity produced no runs. A solo home run in the sixth cut the lead in half.

Clara Rickerson throws to second to get the lead runner.

The leadoff batter in the home half walked but was thrown out trying to steal second. The next batter singled but was left on the bases. Lamar got one in the seventh, but Bleckley held on to win 4-3. Nine runners were left on base.

Jordyn Krieg takes her time after getting a tapback to the mound.

Jordyn Krieg struck out ten batters in six and two-thirds innings pitched. Rebecca Bowling was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Riley Haley went 2 for 4. Elisia Vickers was 1 for 2 with a sac fly. Addisyn Keel and Clara Rickerson went 1 for 2.
