Big crowd at BCPS Literacy and Math night.

Communities in Schools had a table set up to inform parents about the services they offer.

Last year, Bleckley Primary, like most schools, couldn’t do much more than hold regular classes due to COVID-19. One of the popular events that was cancelled was the annual fall literacy and math night.

With things better this year, the event returned Thursday. And people were glad. While official numbers weren’t yet tallied, what looked to be a near record crowd came to shop at the book fair, swap books, try to win a book, as well as play reading and math games.

There were a variety of games, some with a space theme. Children could also count candy corn, practice sight words, as well as enjoy stories. Some tables had activities parents could bring home to do with their kids.
