A long battle: Barons win marathon playoff game.

Throughout this season, the Barons haven't been fast starters. Two of their three wins during the regular season were a result of comebacks. Thursday's home playoff game versus Swainsboro saw the team give fans some anxious moments, but one big hit ended what was a long but exciting game.

Swainsboro scored three runs in the third, and one in the fourth. BCMS scored four runs in the fifth, the tying run coming on a sac fly by Kace Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick would have an even bigger fly ball later on.

The score remained tied after seven innings. Bleckley appeared to be in position to win the game in the eighth, the first two runners on reached with no one out. However, both were left stranded.

Neither team could break through over the next three innings. In the bottom of the 12th, Kyle Brown singled with one out. Kace Kirkpatrick followed. He hit a walk-off two run home run which flew out between center and right field. It gave the Barons a dramatic 6-4 win.

Brown was 4 for 6 with a double. Allen-Mikel Floyd, who pitched all 12 innings, was 3 for 6 with 1 RBI. BCMS will play JR Trippe Saturday in the sem-finals of the MGMSAA playoffs. It will be
