More strong pitching as Royals sweep season series from Trojans.

BCHS wrapped up their home and home series with Lamar County Thursday afternoon in Cochran. While the offense went cold after a hot start, another good outing by Eli Mullis helped power the Royals to a 10th straight win and series sweep.

Dawson Chapman’s two-run single in the third gave BC a 5-1 lead. They wouldn’t score again. Mullis worked out of trouble in the sixth, stranding a pair of runners.

The Trojans got two on with no outs in the seventh but only scored one on an error as Bleckley won 5-2. Mullis went the distance, giving up two hits, one walk, striking out nine.

Chapman accounted for two of the team’s five hits, going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. The Royals will host Northeast in a region doubleheader March 29. Game one is at 4 pm.
