Jurassic Jungle made its Cochran debut in March of 2021. They were back Saturday to offer a sneak peek of potential new things for local residents. The group hosted two mini events at the First Baptist Church Summit Saturday. Jurassic Jungle is the brainchild of Branden and Miranda (Bryant) Schossler. According to their Facebook page, the goal of each show is to “inspiring curiosity and a love of natural history through immersive, educational productions that feature prehistoric creatures.”
The group recently celebrated their two-year anniversary. Saturday’s mini programs served two purposes. One was to provide some content in between the group’s bigger shows. The other was to use both shows as test runs for potential future content for those bigger shows.
Both Brandon and Miranda said Cochran was a natural choice to test out new content since it was the hometown of the dinosaurs as well as Miranda’s. During Saturday’s shows, different creatures were introduced by “dinosaur conservationist” Alana. The “dinosaur interns” (both young and old) could go up and pet each one. There several games played with the dinosaurs to help with their “socialization.”
Following each show, audience members were asked to fill out surveys on what they liked. The feedback will help in future program decisions. Jurassic Jungle will have a full show July 16 at the Wellston Center in Warner Robins.
