Twister teams do it well in the dirt.

For the second straight tournament, all three Twister teams were in action. And after a long day of action at the "Do it in the dirt" tournament held in Milledgeville, two of the teams came away with trophies.

The 16 and under team has been competitive in most of their games this season. However, they've been unable to get over the hump. Their first game was against the Lady Trojans. The Twisters took a 5-0 lead. But as has been often the case, one rough inning made the difference as they lost 8-7.

In their second game, down a player due to injury, they faced the Southern Speed. Hard hits by the Speed combined with mistakes led to an early 7-0 deficit for the Twisters. They were unable to recover and were eliminated.

The 12 and under have been on a hot streak. They'd won two straight tournaments, and had finished in the top two their last three. That streak continued

Saturday, they started off against the Base Bandits. As has been the case at times this year, the team got off to a slow start. They lost 9-2 to the Base Bandits.

In the loser's bracket, the team began to battle back. They eliminated the Georgia Xplosion 9-2. A rematch versus the Base Bandits was no contest as the Twisters won easily 17-5.

That put the team into the title game against the Madsion County Heat. Exhaustion became a factor as the Twisters lost 6-1. They did though bring home second place, their third straight trophy.

The 14 and under team got a late start due to scheduling issues. They've made the most of it though, finishing first or second in all three tournaments they've played. Saturday, though they did not make it to the title game, they did bring home another trophy.

The team opened with a win versus the Georgia Starz 4-2. Next up was the Southern Rage, the team the Twisters defeated to win "R U Scared". They would go up big early and get past a shaky final inning to win 7-5.

Against the Southeast Angels, they were down 6-2. A rally was cut short by time as the team lost for the first time in two tournaments 6-5.

In a loser's bracket rematch against the Starz, what was a one-run came was lost in the final inning as the team fell 6-1. The team though did finish third, and conintued its streak of top three finishes.
