Lady Royals lose late to Westfield.

With the weather clear, BCHS finally had their home opener Thursday night against perennial GISA power Westfield. The Lady Royals lost an infielder, pitcher, and catcher due to graduation. They were without their starting third baseman due to an unexpected injury.

After trading 0’s the first four innings, Westfield broke through with two in the fifth. A Riley Haley triple and Addison Hill sac fly tied things in the sixth. The Lady Hornets scored two more in the seventh. Bleckley got two on with two outs in the seventh but couldn’t score in losing 4-2.

Haley struck out eight and was 3 for 4 with a double, triple, and 1 RBI. Hill was 1 for 2. Emmie Williams was 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles. Bleckley begins region play August 15 at East Laurens. Game time is 6 pm.
