A frustrating night at East Laurens.

BCHS traveled to East Laurens on a cold Tuesday night. The results of both games left the Lady Royals and Royals feeling cold.

An 11-0 run to close the second quarter gave the Lady Falcons a 33-12 halftime lead. BC tried to battle back in the third and was within seven going to the fourth. They cut the deficit to four with 2:10 left.

But EL would close the game 7-2 in winning 58-49. The Lady Royals were 7 of 21 from the free throw line. Ca’mya Harris had 11 points. Ter’Nazia Elvine had 10 points.

Three’s in the final minute of the first half by Nykez Farrow and Kam Everett gave the Royals a 30-22 halftime lead. That lead would grow to as much as 17 in the third quarter and was 14 going to the fourth thanks to a Farrow basket in the final seconds.

But the Falcons opened the fourth on a 15-2 run. BC had a two point lead with 27 seconds left but missed two free throws. EL knocked down two free throws with 19 seconds left as the game went into overtime.

In the first overtime, EL had a one-point lead with under 40 seconds left. BC would hit one of two free throws to tie the game at 68. It was at the end of double overtime when the Falcons prevailed.

They took the lead on a jumper with 3.6 seconds left. BC overthrew the inbounds pass, then had to foul. Though the Falcons only made one of two free throws, they got the rebound and won 77-74. Everett led with 19 points. Caleb Farrow had 17 points. Nykzez Farrow had 16 points. Iverson Baker scored 14 points.

BC travels to Telfair County January 19. Varsity tip time is 6 pm.
