Strong finishes propel BCHS to sweep.

BCHS had a pair of region games Tuesday night against Dublin. Both BC teams used good finishes to secure region wins.

The Lady Royals used a 16-6 second quarter to take an 11-point lead at halftime. Dublin spent most of the third on a 12-2 run which was stopped by a Kalyria Jones three in the final minute. BC led 27-23 going to the fourth.

Dublin opened the fourth 10-0. Bleckley responded by a 17-4 run to close the game, including five straight points by Ter’Nazia Elvine to cap a 44-37 win. Elvine had 22 points. Jones finished with 14 points.

The Irish closed the second quarter 11-0 to lead 25-20. BC closed the third 7-2 to lead by five going to the fourth. Dublin would cut the Royals nine-point lead in the fourth to one with about 10 seconds left.

Caleb Farrow hit two free throws. Dublin wouldn’t get a clean shot off as the Royals hung on 51-48. Farrow had 16 points. Kam Everett scored 11 points. Bleckley hosts East Laurens February 2 at 6 pm. The Sweetheart Court will be presented during halftime of the boys game.
