The executive session of the March 19 Board of Education meeting was very busy as numerous personnel moves were made.

The board accepted the resignation, due to retirement of Executive Assistant Debbie Arnold and Adaptive PE Teacher Benjy Rogers, to accept the resignations of Success Academy Director Christie Dean, teacher/coach Derrick Farrow, middle and high school band director Matthew McClellan, teacher and BCMS assistant tennis coach Spence Greer, and Bleckley Elementary assistant principal Russell Lawley, all effective at the end of the year.

Steve Mote was transferred from BCHS teacher to BCPS Assistant Principal. Stephanie Vickers was promoted from Success Academy teacher/assistant to principal.

There were several hires made. Ray Hardin returns to Bleckley as a teacher (49 percent.) Angie Boston was hired as the new BCES Principal. Sarah Roseman was hired as the new band director.

At the meeting, the FY25 athletic staffing plan was approved. From that document, Hardin will return to a role he once had, BCMS Athletic Director and football head coach.
Halstead, who was transferred to Bleckley Elementary as a teacher for FY25 at a previous meeting, will be an assistant middle school tennis coach. He will also replace Mandy Little as middle school soccer assistant coach for both the boys and girls teams.

Chris Reeves, who was hired as district adaptive PE teacher, will be an assistant coach for Royals football. BCHS Soccer boys Assistant Coach Matt Gilbert will be the new head coach. Jimmy Williams had already announced his retirement at the end of the school year.

The BCHS basketball squad cheerleading sponsor slot was listed as vacant. Meta Mays had served in that role for FY24.
