BCHS had their final tuneup before sectionals/region Saturday afternoon when they hosted “Battle at the Kingdom.” Instead of traveling to a school, the Royals had the opportunity (and responsibility) of hosting.

Though BC was one of seven Class A teams, they only competed for scores. As it was at home, a large crowd of supporters were on hand. As hosts, and competing only for scores, they came out last.

The squad was welcomed by a loud ovation. They were down one member due to injury. It had direct effects on the routine. Namely, one of the single base stunts didn’t go up and one of the stunt groups didn’t go up.

Despite that, it was a great day on the mat for Bleckley. High energy, good motions, good tumbling, good jumps. There was no drama waiting for awards, But a look at the scoresheet proved very interesting.

Senior cheerleaders were recognized after BC performed. Pictured are BC seniors Gabbie Wells and Bailey Enright with coaches Heather Davis and Anna Brown.

Bleckley would’ve finished second had they been competing for scores. They also had their highest score of the season despite not being to execute a full routine due to injury.

The Royals travel to Vidalia November 9 for regionals/sectionals. Start time is TBD.
