BCHS splits games with Golden Hawks.

BCHS welcomed Washington County to Cochran Tuesday night. The girls game was a matchup of top ten teams, the Lady Hawks were #8, the Lady Royals #9.

Waco finished the second quarter 8-0 to take a 27-19 halftime lead. BC tried to battle back in the third but still trailed by six going to the fourth, they missed six straight free throws to end the quarter.

Trailing by double digits for most of the fourth, back to back three’s in the final minute cut the deficit to four. But there would be no comeback as Bleckley lost 57-52, going 3 of 17 from the free throw line. Mathis and Ava Jenkins scored 11 points. Amiyah Roberts scored 12 points.

The Royals held the Golden Hawks to nine second quarter points and led 23-14 at halftime. Leading by six going to the fourth, BC would be up by as many as 10 points.

Waco would cut the lead to five in the final minute but BC held on 43-38. Kam Everett had a season high 18 points. Nykez Farrow added 10 points. Bleckley travels to Jefferson County December 13. Girls play at 5 pm with boys to follow.
