BCMS opened their home and region baseball season Monday afternoon against J.R. Trippe. Despite rallying from an early deficit, the Barons were unable to hold the lead late.

BC gave up four runs in the top of the second but rallied with two in the home half and three in the third to take the lead. Three more in the fifth gave them an 8-4 lead.
But in the top of the seventh, the Chiefs loaded the bases. They scored five times, two bases loaded walks sandwiched between a misplayed fielder’s choice and a go-ahead single to take a 9-8 lead.

BC had two on with one out in the home half, but a controversial (did the first baseman really field the ball cleanly?) double play ended the game. Brayden Foskey was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Layne Boutwell went 1 for 2.
