Girls fall in quarterfinals, boys rally past Dodge to get to semis. ***Updated***

Region tournament play moved to Eastman Wednesday night as the Lady Royals took on East Laurens and the Royals faced host Dodge County. While the girls lost a fourth quarter lead, the boys had a miraculous comeback.

BC led by as many as 14 points in the first half and was up 28-20 at halftime. The Lady Falcons got within five, Kalyria Jones scored four points in the final minute to push the lead to 42-33.

EL opened the fourth on a 15-0 run. Though able to get within four points several times, Bleckley could never get any closer and lost 56-48. Jones scored 12 points. Ava Jenkins had 11 points.

A fortunate bounce on a buzzer-beating three to end the first half gave the Indians a 33-18 halftime lead. The Royals opened the third 13-0 but were then outscored 18-11 and trailed by nine going to the fourth.
Trailing by 13 in the fourth, BC began another push. After Dodge missed two free throws with under 20 seconds left, BC got the ball back. Jaylin Gardner hit a game-tying three with five seconds remaining.

Kam Everett forced a turnover and laid the ball in as time expired to give Bleckley an improbable 65-63 win. Garnder had 29 points. Nykez Farrow scored 14 points. The Royals will play at Dublin versus Dublin February 14. Tip time is 8:30 pm.
