Younger Lady Barons slug their way to sweep.

With much of her squad being comprised of sixth and seventh grade players, Lady Barons head coach needed a way to see what she had. After Thursday's home scrimmage sweep of Crisp County, she's likely pleased.

Game one saw BCMS down 6-0 going into the bottom of the first. But a pair of four-run innings gave the Lady Barons and 8-7 comeback win. Offensive leaders from game one include: Leslie Holland, 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 RBI and Caroline Johnson who was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI. Maggie Bell had seven strikeouts for the Lady Barons.

Bleckley was the visiting team in game two versus another sixth/seventh grade team from Crisp county. In the top of the second, BCMS exploded for eight runs. A three-run third would put the game away as the Lady Barons swept the Lady Cougars.

In the win, Caroline Meadows was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI. Maggie Floyd was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Taylor Little was 2 for 3. Ashlynd Jolley had seven strikeouts for Bleckley. Diamond Day is Saturday at Southern Pines in Dublin with games at 10 am and noon. BCMS begins MGMSAA play Tuesday at home versus Dublin at 4 pm.
