As is the case sometimes in all sports, especially late in the season, the BCMS Competition Cheerleaders were dealing with multiple injuries as they prepared to perform Saturday morning at the East Laurens Falcon Frenzy. They had to pull out of their scheduled trip to Vidalia and have spent the past two weeks making adjustments to the routine.
BC was the first of six schools to perform in the small middle school division. The priority viewing area set up behind the judges was full of purple and gold supporters who cheered as the Barons were called to the mat
Despite the adjustments, BC had what was described as their best performance of the season. High energy. Good jumps, good tumbling. The execution was great, all the stunts stuck. Supporters gave the squad a loud ovation after the performance ended.
When it was time for results, the squad and coaches waited on the mat with bated breath. Third place, J.R. Trippe Middle School. Second place, Ben Hill County. First place, Bleckley County! The squad and coaches celebrated and the supporters cheered.
