BCHS looked to build on their success two weeks ago at North Forsyth as they made the short trip to East Laurens Saturday morning for the Falcon Frenzy. They were the second team to perform in a six-team Class A division that also included region opponents Jefferson County, Washington County, and Fitzgerald.
The priority section was quickly filled with purple and gold supporters after the first team’s fans left. They gave a loud cheer as the Royals entered the gym.
What they saw was a case of good and bad. The squad had added difficulty into the routine. That part went well. They had good energy.
However, a tumbling pass wasn’t thrown. And there were issues with the pyramid. Someone slipped on a full up and someone was dropped in the back. Despite the mistakes, supporters still gave the squad another loud ovation as they exited.
When it was time for results, the Royals finished third. A look at the scoresheets showed there was a deduction on tumbling and two on the pyramid. Coaches Heather Davis and Emily Raley though were overall pleased because the difficulty added did stick and the other things could be worked on in practice.
