News from the March 19 BOE meeting.

The Bleckley County Board of Education held their monthly meeting March 19. It was a relatively quiet meeting with a few things happening.
They did pass a resolution to ask for assistance from the Georgia Department of Education in developing a new five-year local facilities plan. To read the resolution, go to.

The board continued with their comprehensive policy review. This month’s policies were in Section J: Students. According to meeting minutes, there were no changes recommended that would’ve been on the table for one month. To see the policy, go to

For special recognition, the FY26 Superintendent Student Advisory Board was recognized. (editor’s note, I forgot to ask if there was a picture available.)
From the executive session: The board accepted the resignation, due to retirement, of longtime music & drama teacher Kelli Greer, effective at the end of the school year. Greer has numerous accomplishments including winning state titles in One Act Play as well as a state title in literary. She’s also won national titles as the Beta Club Show Choir Director.
