BCHS welcomed Jeff Davis to Cochran Wednesday night. The Royals edged the Yellow Jackets 2-1 in Hazlehurst to begin the season.
Tied 1-1 in fourth, JD took the lead thanks to an error. They took a 6-1 lead to the bottom of the sixth. Though BC got a run on a Gavin Cole sac fly, they couldn’t capitalize on having two on with one out.
Bleckley lost 6-2. They had more errors (5) than hits (4). Cole was 1 for 2. Region play resumes tomorrow. It will be Veterans Day, as Veterans from the Carl Vinson VA Hospital in Dublin will be in attendance.
