Royals dispatch Fannin to claim quarterfinals berth.

BCHS sought to clinch another elite eight berth as well as shake off last night’s frustrating game two loss to Fannin County where the offense left 16 runners on base.

The Royals found ways to score often. They took a 3-0 lead after two innings thanks to two sac flies and an RBI groundout. In the third, BC used hits (including a bunt) another RBI groundout, and an error to score four more.

Fannin scored an unearned run in the fifth. Bleckley answered with two more in the home half. The Rebels got their first hit of the game in the sixth, and had two on in the seventh.

But BC got the final three as they won 9-1. Gavin Cole gave up no earned runs, three hits, walked one, and struck out 11.

Walker Boatright was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Bleckley travels to Elbert County May 6 for a quarterfinals matchup. Times are TBD.
