Royals fall to Vidalia in GHSA Semifinals.

It was a matchup of past and future region rivals as BCHS hosted Vidalia Thursday night for a berth in the GHSA championship series. The Royals and Indians last met in a tournament in 2024 with each team winning one game according to MaxPreps.

Brody Fleming


Trailing 5-0 in game one, BC had two on with one out in the bottom of the third but couldn’t score. Vidalia got one more in the sixth. Though the Royals got on the board in the bottom of the seventh, they left the bases loaded losing 6-1.

Noah Woodard


BC had just five hits. Casey Finch went 1 for 2.

Leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth of game two, a first and second, one out opportunity produced no runs. VHS scored four in the home half.

Jay Johnson


The Royals though rallied for two in the top of the seventh to tie the game 5-5. They had the bases loaded with no outs in the top of the eighth but couldn’t score.

Gavin Cole


Vidalia loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth but were kept off the board. BC got a runner on with one out in the 10th but he was left stranded.

Walker Boatright


In the home half, after two runners reached with one out, the bases were intentionally loaded. The next batter hit a deep single to left field to end the game and Bleckley’s season 6-5. The Royals outhit the Indians 12-7 but left 14 runners on base.

Kix Foskey


Jay Johnson threw six innings of relief, giving up two hits, seven walks, but striking out 11. Noah Woodard went 2 for 5 with a double and 1 RBI. Caleb Foskey was 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. Casey Finch and Walker Boatright each went 2 for 5.

The Royals finish with a record of 30-9.
