After winning for the first time last year, the BCMS boys basketball team saw an incredible upswing. The Barons sprinted out to a 4-0 start and were 10-1 on January 22. Though Bleckley would lose two of its final three games, BCMS was still the second seed in the MGMSAA tournament.

Their opponent Thursday was seventh-seeded Toombs County. BC ended the regular season with a win in Lyons, though the offense struggled throughout. In Thursday's game, back to back three's by Rydealous "Spud" Taylor and D'Andre Pitts erased an early 4-1 deficit.

Hughes was hampered by a sprained ankle suffered in practice. Leading 17-9, the BullPups scored the final six points to get within 17-15 at halftime.
