Spending time with St. Nick: Breakfast with Santa held.

This sign sat outside Saturday morning to welcome guests.

After a week of school, most children aren't excited to get up early on a Saturday morning. But on a cold, rainy Saturday in Cochran, several got up and got dressed quite willingly.

Erin Smith fixes a plate for one of the children.

They attended the second annual Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the BCHS Scepter Staff. The event is a fundraiser for the high school yearbook. Breakfast was cooked by the staff and consisted of pancakes, sausage, fruit, and milk.

Many moms and dads were there to enjoy the fun with their kids.

Children got the opportunity to get their picture taken with Santa, copies were on sale for parents to buy. They also got to make crafts, color pictures, and generally have fun.

The big highlight of the morning was story time with Santa. What story did he read? "Twas the Night before Christmas" of course. After a grou picture, some stayed to enjoy the fun a little longer, while others were off to other things with mom and dad.

Miranda Bryant, who was crowned 2010 Miss Scepter last Saturday, was on hand to help.

Nevertheless, the children would probably say this event was well worth getting up for.

Everyone there wishes all of you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
