The final day before Thanksgiving was a busy one at Bleckley Elementary. People from all types of occupations took time out of their day to come and speak.

Students in Riley Trioli's class learn about bee keeping.


It was the second straigh year the event had been held. School counselor Vonda Bryant said they planned to make it a yearly tradition.

Chad Tripp from the Department of Natural Resources spoke about being a game warden.


Vistors included different Air Force units, a climatologist, cosmotologists, and a bee keeper. Each person was either in a room or at a station. Stations were set up in the lunchoom and gym. Classes were given a set amount of time with each speaker.

As part of the lab tech demonstration, students got to touch models of organs.


Outside, visitors included Dykes Grassing and the GBI's bomb disposal unit. The kids were intersted, asking questions about their jobs, and in some cases, just about them.

An unusual question Assistant Superintendent Richard Smith got was about the kind of pet he had.


Years from now, you may be getting your hair cut, or need the assistance of a policemean, who learned about that career today.

Dr. Bill of Dr. Bill's Kids ended this visit with a rousing chant of "BC WHAT!"


Students guessed correctly that the "lab coat" used for hair styling was to keep things like hair off of them.


A model of the human spine was part of Middle Georgia Rehabilitation's demonstration on physical therapy.


Dr. John Pasto of Middle Georgia College explains what can be learned by disecting. Some of the students were sort of shocked by seeing the dead cat used for disecting,


Tina Knighton of M & C Dental Center spoke about the importance of flossing.


Steve Cannon of Cannon Well Service explained that he helps make sure people not in the city get water.


One question asked of Dykes Grassing was the effect on traffic when they worked on the interstate.


While there weren't a lot of questions about the job, of course the students wanted to see the patrol car lights.

Members of the GBI's bomb disposal unit demonstrate the robot used to check and get rid of bombs.


Cochran-Bleckley Fireman Frddy Trioli explained that when a call came in the night, they had to be ready to answer.
