Local merchants and citizens donated items for the silent auction.

If you've ever visited the website for Bleckley County Elementary School, or visited for any reason, you know that it's a busy place. Between Career Days, media projects, and science fairs, there's almost always something happening there.

Several themed baskets were raffled off. They included Valentine's, hunting, snack attack, and Georgia Bulldogs.

Thursday evening, the hallways and gyms were again bustling with activity as BCES held their annual WinterFest. The festival serves as a primary fundraiser. Proceeds will go toward technology and playground equipment said principal Janet DeLoach.

Though "Macaraena" was playing, these folks weren't dancing. They were walking for cakes and other baked items.

There was plenty to do. Kids could get a tattoo, shoot hoops, jump inside a bounce house, or get their hair done crazily. There was a bingo game for kids and adults. Adults also could place bids for items donated in a silent auction.

While the festival officially shut down at 8, a table called "Monogram Mania" was still busy. The table, which would decorate items with initials and polka dots, still had a few more customers.

The BCMS Cheerleaders were busy doing crazy hair as well as painting fingernails.

By around 8:30, the parking lot had cleared. While students may not look forward to school on Friday, being at school Thursday evening wasn't so bad.

At this fishing hole, every cast was guaranteed to snag a prize.

The bounce house is always a popular spot at any festival.

What's a festival without popcorn? People could also buy pizza in the lunchroom.
