A special night for daughters and dads.

For a Saturday night, it was busy at BCHS. Cars filled the front parking lot. The sounds of loud music, talking, and a few high-pitched squeals could be heard inside. No, it wasn't the prom (thats next month.) It was the annual father-daughter dance hosted by Bleckley Primary.

Held for the past six plus years, this year's event took place at the high school. The change of venue provided more parking and more space. As girls and their fathers entered, they saw a beautiful pink display set up by Princesses with a Purpose.

Besides posing for pictures, many of the Princesses with a Purpose cast also served as dancing partners.

Depending upon their last name, they signed in at one of two tables. The commons area was abuzz with activity. PWAP characters were all around to give out hugs and take pictures. There was a refreshment table with cookies and other treats.

Meanwhile, the lunch room had been turned into a dance floor. Loud music, baloons for dancing, and hundreds of little girls who were having a grand time dancing, running around, and generally enjoying the special night with their dad's.

Some dads chose to stand and talk. But as the evening wore on, there were those who got on the floor to share the moment. Many showed they still had moves. Music wouldn't stop until a little after eight.

The early end time was another reminder that this wasn't prom. But it was a special night for hundreds of little girls and memories that will last a lifetime.
