On a surprisingly mild June Monday, all star teams were back at it. Some looked to stay alive while others sought to enter sub disrict with momentum.

In Hawkinsville: The 7-8 girls rallied from an early deficit to defeat Crisp County 19-14. CBRD then won in five versus Wilcox County 17-9. They play tomorrow at 5:30 pm.

The 9-10 girls lost to Crisp County 9-6 and play tomorrow at 5:30. BC's 11-12 girls gave up five runs in the first en route to a 7-1 loss to Wilcox County. They begin district play Thursday at 8 pm in Hawkinsville.

Meanwhile in Cochran: The 7-8 boys lost to Dodge County 9-3. Bleckley opens subdistrict play Thursday in Dodge versus Wheeler County at 5:30 pm. The 9-10 boys took on Telfair for first place.

Trailing 13-6 in the final inning, Cochran tried to rally but lost 13-9. In game two, a 6-1 lead was cut to 6-4. BC would go up 8-4, Telfair got within one. Three in the bottom of the fifth were the difference in an 11-8 win for CBRD. They open subdistrict play in Eastman Thursday at 8 pm.

Steven Knighton had a solo home run as the 11-12 boys made it to the title game 6-1 over Telfair County. Brody Little pitched the final inning versus Dodge to preserve a 7-6 win. They have a bye in the opening round of subdistrict and will begin Friday at 5:30 pm.
