Subdistrict and district play begins for all star teams.

Games of importance began Thursday with subdistrict and district tournaments in both Eastman and Hawkinsville. One team took advantage of the opportunity presented and is a game away from district.

In Hawkinsville: The 9-10 girls trailed just 4-1 going to the bottom of the fifth versus Dodge despite missing scoring opportunities including two on in the top half. Five runs in the home half ended a 9-1 loss. Bleckley plays Friday at 6:45 pm.

The 11-12 girls lost to Hawkinsville 14-4 and play Saturday at 11:30 am. Despite an early 1-0 lead, the 13-14 boys lost 11-1 to Hawkinsville. They play Friday at 5:30 pm.

Meanwhile in Eastman: The 7-8 boys routed Wheeler County 33-1. Against Dodge County, BC had an 11-5 lead going to the last of the seventh, Dodge scored seven times to win 12-11. Cochran plays Friday at 6:45.

The 9-10 boys got a first round bye. Using an 11-run fourth inning, Bleckley won versus Dodge 19-6. A win at 10 am Saturday gets them top seed for next Tuesday's district tournament. The 11-12 boys begin subdistrict play Friday in Hawkinsville at 5:30.
