Nena Beth Mickle receives the ball for the out.

Meanwhile in Madison: The 9-10 girls first opponent Thursday was Jasper County. A six and eight run inning powered Bleckley to a 23-4 win. Numerous players had hits including Clair Rickerson who had two straight RBI hits.

Janyla West scores.

Next up was another "BC" team as Bleckley took on the Rebelettes of Berrien County. Berrien led 8-0 after an inning and a half when Bleckley scored ten. Up 20-9 in the fifth, the Rebelttes scored five. Shelton Dean had the game-clinching hit as Bleckley won 22-14.

Darcie Dillard gets a hit.

She was 4 for 5. Joni Lucas was 4 for 4 with a double. Nena Beth Mickle went 3 for 4. Katherine Purser went 2 for 4 with a triple. Addisyn Keel was 2 for 4. Janyla West and Rickerson both went 2 for 2. Juliette Stevens and Darcie Dillard were 1 for 2.

Supporters of the team "stand up and holler" after hearing the "two bits, four bits, six bits, a dollar" chant following the win against Berrien.

A win Friday at 10 am versus Bacon County puts Bleckley into their first state title game in 9-10 girls since 2004.
