Pre season action continued for BCHS as they traveled to Effingham County High School for a scrimmage tournament. The Lady Royals played three of their five games, including an early matchup against a region foe.

Against Putnam County, Bleckley took advantage of errors to score four in the first. Up 9-3 after three, they would go on to win 9-5. Aliyah Whithead was 2 for 2 with a triple. Kalee Kitchens was 2 for 2. Allison Collins was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Faith Harris was 1 for 2.

Taylor Dykes sets to throw to first.


Next up was a split Effingham squad (Effingham County gray.) BC scored three in each of the first two innings. Four in the fourth capped a 10-1 win. Allie Keel was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Harris was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Taylor Dykes was 2 for 3. Hannah Coulter was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Collins and Elizabeth Mathis were 1 for 2.

Kalee Kitchers would get it in time for the out.


Bleckley's final opponent was Oglethorpe County. The Lady Patriots scored four in the second to go up 4-2. Tied at four in the fourth, Oglethorpe scored two more. A Collins RBI single cut the deficit to one but time ran out as the Lady Royals fell 6-5.

Holly Tedders slides safely into third.


Collins was 1 for 2. Jordan Williams was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Dykes and Coulter both doubled in going 1 for 2. Holly Tedders was also 1 for 2. Tournament play concludes Wedneesday with games at noon and 1:30 pm at Effingham County Middle School.
