There was much new as BCMS took the floor Saturday morning in their competition cheerleading debut. New coaches in Becky Smith and Audrey Hall. Many new faces on the mat as a large eighth grade class moved on last spring.

A large group of supporter awoke early Saturday morning and made the short drive down Highway 96 to support BC at the Middle Georgia Cheer Classic. Bleckley was the first middle school team after the seventh grade divison completed. Fans gave the squad a loud ovation as the squad took the mat.

Every stunt stuck. They were loud, crisp motions, good jumps. The only deductions came as a result of hands down on tumbling down twice. Another round of cheers for BCMS came as they exited and when returning to watch the rest of the competition.

Schools weren't seperated by size. Feagin Mill, Bleckley, Calvary Day, Bonaire, etc. were all competing against each other. It was Calvary Day that just edged BC in the lib off competition. The Barons finished fifth, one point out of fourth place behind West Laurens.

BC returns to action September 27 at 10 am as part of the Greyhound Cheerlading Invitational. It'll be held at Georgia College and State University.
