Overcoming injuries are a part of any sport. BCHS was facing that adversity as they prepared to debut at the Middle Georgia Cheer Classic Saturday. Already down one due to a knee injury, another suffered a fractured finger Tuesday. It forced last second alterations to the routine.

Add in those with nagging injuries, and Bleckley was somewhat banged up. But as the expression goes "the show must go on." Being close by, a large group had packed the Houston County gym to watch that show.

BC was the first squad of the final afternoon session. As it was their first performance and with the injuries, stunts were not perfect. But they did have full squad tumbling that was solid. They were loud, sharp motions, good jumps.

Supporters rewarded their efforts with loud applause as they left the mat. With the injuries, everyone chose just to be fans during the post-competition lib off. The wait was short for results to be announced.

News of first place was welcomed with another loud cheer. Head coach Heather Davis said she was very proud of the girls effort with what they'd been through this week.

The squad. Bottom row L-R: Logan Nobles, Megan Wade, Ashley Morrow, Alondria Clemons. Second row: Daylin Dean, Dallas Jade Francis, Logan Williamson, Shayla Nobles, Carli Purser, Savannah Stokes, Anna Roland. Third row: Calli White, Hanna Dykes, Allie Smith, Leansley Mullis, Emily Collins, Victoria Paulk. Coaches Christie Dean and Heather Davis.

BC will be in action September 27 at the Greyhound Cheerleading Invitational hosted by Jones County High School. It starts at 1 pm and will be held at the Georgia College and State University Centennial Center.
