Boys rally as BCMS sweeps Toombs County.

BCMS stayed on the road traveling to Toombs County on a chilly Monday afternoon. The girls looked for their first win while the boys sought to make it two in a row.

Bailey Odom had six first quarter points as the Lady Barons jumped out to a 16-0 lead. Taylor Stuckey scored four of six second quarter points as the lead was 22-3 at halftime. It was a running clock by the fourth quarter as BC rolled 41-3. Odom scored 10.

Nykeem Farrow had all eight points for the Barons as they trailed 11-8 after one. Despite not making a basket in the second, they trailed just 17-11 at the half. After getting within three late in the third, a buzzer beating layup put Toombs up five going to the fourth.

It was 32-25 when the Barons began to rally. A Shamar Rouse basket with 1:32 left tied the score. Farrow hit one of two free throws with 45 seconds remaining to put the Barons on top. They led by two with 20 seconds left but Toombs drove down and scored to tie things at 34. It sent the game to overtime.

BC went up six before Toombs rallied back. It was tied at 41 with a minute left. Nick Mack's basket with 51 seconds left made it 43-41. A Toombs player was fouled with 2.3 seconds left but he split the free throws. Bleckley hung on 43-42. Farrow had 14

The teams will be home Tuesday versus Dodge County. Tip time is 4 pm.
