Guests enjoyed grilled pork chops, rolls, and other covered dish vegetables.

In speaking about the season at Tuesday's awards banquet, head cheerleading coach Heather Davis called it "a rollercoaster." She wasn't exaggerating. The squad suffered two injuries the week leading up to their debut at the Middle Georgia Cheer Classic. People had to step in to different roles.

Henley Dean was one of the new faces on this year's squad.

Remarkably, they found a way to win first. Though some of the girls cheered while injured during the season, they won region, the 15th in program history. State didn't go as planned with a second straight 12th place finish but Davis said she felt like they could improve next season.

She encouraged those dealing with injuries to get them seen about now so they could be ready for tryouts in the spring. Everyone received letter certificates, region champion patches, and a DVD of their competitions from this year. It was then time for specific awards/
