BCHS was 4-1 in region play going into Tuesday's game at Monticello despite scoring an average of four runs a game. The Royals looked to hand the Hurricanes their first region loss.

Austin Simmons also had a walk Tuesday.

Monticello scored one in the first when the ball was dropped on a tag at home plate. Bleckley had stranded Austin Simmons at third in the top half. They stranded two on with two out in the third, couldn't capitalize on a one out error in the fourth, nor a leadoff single by Ty Edge in the fifth.

After the fifth, teams were called off the field due to lightning in the area. After a delay of about one hour, fifteen minutes, play resumed. BC was retired in order the final two innings and lost 1-0.
