Wil Herrington, sporting a new car, was first in pole position and beat several veteran drivers as he won the Southern Thunder Late Model Series race Saturday night at Cochran Motor Speedway. Cole Exum of Valdosta was second, and Rhett Carter of Waycross was third.

In the Baldwin Builders Sportsman division, Josh Taylor of Ellaville pulled off the win after a hard fought battle with Ridge Warren of Chester and Cameron hall of Hawkinsville. Jason Floyd of Cochran won the Heartland EMS Pure Stock, while Jeffrey Yates of Tennille won the Five Star Hyundai Bomber feature.

Racing returns to CMS April 18 with the beginning of the points system.
